Beta call for writers!
In a lot of ways, the beta is the most important asset a writer has. The beta is the voice of sanity. Of reason and logic. Sometimes, the beta is also the voice of smack-down. Ouchie.
Good betas point out continuity flaws, typos, rough patches, tangled sentences, convoluted punctuation, and a whole host of other problems. They do all of this tactfully and carefully so that the writer doesn't go cry in the corner after deleting their story.
Great betas are enthusiastic and squeeful, and help push, pull and drag the writer over the finish line. They cheer on the writer, give constructive criticism, and generally are made out of glitter and intelligence.

Strengths as a beta: I do well with spelling, punctuation, and general grammar stuff. I'll also give lots of praise because writers? They're awesome.
Weaknesses as a beta: I'm not from America nor England, but I still think I'd be able to spot most mistakes when it comes to lingual and cultural differences between the two, for instance. I've also only betaed shorter pieces before, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Expected turn around time: 1-3 weeks depending on length, I would dare assume, maybe a bit more if school and private life go sour or something else happens.
What bands/characters will you beta: MCR is my definitive strongest bet when it comes to character and canon, but I can do FOB and maybe even Panic! if I absolutely have to.
What relationships/characters will you beta: Again, I have more experience with MCR, especially Frerard, but I'll do pretty much anything except non-con, parentxchild, or humanxpet because, no.
Any limitations or squicks: I'd be a bit bummed if I had to beta a PWP, since I'm asexual, and thus naturally, It'd be sort of boring to me. But hey, what the heck, If you manage to write a 10-20 000+ thing of it, bring it on! I think I'd be impressed by the sheer will power behind that. As for fics that have a plot but contain smut; no problemo!

Strengths as a beta: Grammar/spelling, continuity, historical/situational/informational accuracy (I LOVE to research, oddly enough, and I'm quite interested in science and history).
Weaknesses as a beta: Grammatical tenses mess with me (though I'm better at catching them in other's work than my own). I can be overly-critical. I work best with a foundation of what you want me to critique or I will start analyzing everything.
Expected turn around time: 1-2 weeks

What are you looking for in a beta? Someone to tell me to shut up when I'm rambling and help out with correcting my language when it doesn't quite translate over well. Also my continuity tends to suck from time to time and the tone of the fic can vary depending on what mood I'm in when I'm writing...So really, just be honest and blunt. I'm a quiet person, I'll probably just apologise way too much and offer you cookies.
(Note: The fic is a Historical!AU based in 1940s New Orleans so knowledge of that would be helpful but not required. I've been obsessing over period-typical vocabulary for the last 2 months now so I think most of it is down.)

What are you looking for in a beta?: Checking for continuity and rambling, world-building, tenses, characterization, how much backstory is enough backstory, Killjoys and MCR Revenge-era canon. FOB knowledge a plus. General encouragement along with ass-kicking is appreciated!

Strengths as a beta: I'm doing a degree in English Literature and History, and spend far too much time reading. I have also finished University for the summer so have vast amounts of free time.
Weaknesses as a beta: I have a tendency to get slightly over excited about things that I enjoy.
Expected turn around time: A few days at the most, due to lack of anything else to do.
What bands/characters will you beta: FOB, P!atd, Cobra, anything with Travie or William Beckett, can help with MCR but do not have overwhelming knowledge of them like the others.

Strengths as a beta: Spelling (although I live in Australia so I spell some things different), grammar, punctuation, and canon.
Weaknesses as a beta: I seem like a bitch sometimes? Sometimes the pressure of editing a chunk of work within a short amount of time is really difficult, especially with senior schooling; gross.
Expected turn around time: Depends on the word length, I can get through 30,000+ in a night, but then beta-ing it will take me a solid couple of days or so. Give or take a week.

Strengths as a beta:\\. I have read a lot of fics , taken a creative writing course so I'm experienced with the technical side of things! Im also so excited about a good fic, reading them and talking to the author about them. It honestly makes me so happy seeing someones work come to life. I'm honest and enthusiastic. \
Weaknesses as a beta:\\ sometimes i can get too honest but i'll try and restrain that! \

What are you looking for in a beta? first off, disclaimer, we already have one beta lined up but we were thinking that two might be good because the fic is long and dense and it would be unkind to shove that all off on just one person. as to what we're looking for: all the usual stuff, with some specifics -- primarily we want someone to check over the pacing and thematic coherency of the fic. many parts of the fic are very slice-of-life or, uh, introspective? like not high-drama. it's a slow build, so another set of eyes looking to keep the momentum going would be super helpful. ALSO the fic touches on some Gender Stuff so if anyone is interested in that, hit us up :D

What are you looking for in a beta? I need someone who willing to try to sift through my fics who can try and fix it. My fics are not edited at all there no structure or defined paragraphs. I write things backwards because I am dyslexic. I am terrible with tense, spelling sentence structure and punctuation. I miss words or leave things out. I however know that my stories are good you can check them in the place I said above. as I use to have a beta It does have squicks such as non con first time bullying abuse incest violence blood and more so on so forth dealing things that might trigger someone I do write fluff as well
