For pairings, Pete/Patrick most definitely with maybe a side of Frank/Gerard?
As for what I'm looking in a beta, I think the most important aspect is that they actually want to read what I'm writing. As weird as that sounds, I have beta-ed before and there were a few authors I had to resign from because I couldn't learn to love their tone of voice. So like, no hard feelings if you find someone and they end up not liking my style.
Other wise, elementally, I think my most worried part is probably voice. I want to make sure my characters stay consistent according to the plot. Most of my ideas are mostly plotted out, its just getting it into a flowing story is a bit of a challenge since I'm prone to being discouraged by time and getting hit by writer's block. I'd really like someone willing to challenge me on plot points if it's just not going anywhere.
Basically, I want someone who's not afraid to call me out if where I'm going is a bad idea or if I've made a mistake in mechanics but is also willing to explain why it's wrong. I'm a little headstrong and need reasons to why I'm wrong for me to accept it.
Um, sorry if this seems too picky. It's just a bare bones kind of. If you'd find anyone just willing to talk with me while I'm writing that'd be cool too.
