Claims post is live!

Note: We've decided to only use written summaries this year, rather than post snippets/thumbnails of art/podfic/vids. Please double check the format of the fanwork before you choose it, because we don't want anyone to be surprised.

  • Read the rules.
  • If you haven't signed up to be a complement creator, please do so here.
  • Claiming is first come, first served. No take backs!
  • Cut and paste the following into a comment:

  • Once all primary fanworks are claimed, we will open claims for a second round of claims.
  • Mods will reply confirming your claim or asking you to choose again.
  • Remember that complements can not be of the same format as the primary. So if the primary is a fic, you cannot write a fic - you must create something in a different format.
  • Drafts will be sent out over the next several days via e-mail. Please wait 72 hours before contacting us because you are missing a draft. It takes time to coordinate this!
  • Finished fanworks are due November 26, 2018.
  • You are welcome to claim a second summary once you have completed your original assignment and it has been accepted by the mods.
  • GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN.

  • We are now in double claims, which is the bonus round. If you've already claimed a summary, you have to turn your completed fanwork in before claiming another summary.

    Summaries

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: My Chemical Romance
    Relationships: Frank Iero/Gerard Way
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings: Alcohol abuse
Summary: Gerard Way is a rising solo artist, set to become alternative's next biggest name. Frank Iero is a trashy punk with a reputation of his own as the frontman of Pencey Prep. When their paths cross, a love story is born, only to come crashing down when Gerard hits it big.

As Gerard ascends to the A-list, Frank adjusts to life on his own. He almost manages it - until two years later, when fate puts him face to face with Gerard once more. Everything has changed, but the connection between them is still there. Their story ended once, but if they're lucky, they just might make a new one.

    Media type: Video
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick/Pete, minor Pete Wentz/OFC
    Rating: Mature
Warnings: occult themes, eg. satanic rituals, witchcraft, brainwashing, blood, and violence, hinted nudity.
Summary: Pete is in a relationship with a (unbeknownst to him) bad witch. Patrick is pining, but Pete is handsy which doesn't help, so he asks him to stop which Pete does not like for... some reason. Pete's girlfriend is jealous and she and her friends kidnap Patrick and brainwash him to hate Pete.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Teen
    Warnings: none
Summary: These are the mission logs of four American astronauts on a 6-month mission to man the International Space Station. There's Lieutenant Corporal Andy Hurley, Marine Corps jock and living human physiology experiment on vegans in space; civilian Dr. Joseph Trohman, a botanist who is really quite anxious about living in a tube pumped full of oxygen imported from earth; Captain Pete Wentz, a hotshot army pilot whose mission in life seems to be to annoy everyone around him; and Commander Patrick Stump, their reluctant leader, added last-minute to the mission for all the wrong reasons and none too pleased about it. These four men are strapped to a rocket, sent out into the total isolation and razor's edge survival environment of earth's orbit, and expected to live, work, and maintain the ISS in harmony. What would go possibly wrong? (Also known as: PETERICKS IN SPACE.)

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Dubcon, Major Character Death, Violence, mentions of a dead cat, mention of human trafficking, police brutality, a dead body
Summary: "Maybe you were right", he was getting quieter and quieter, voice barely a breath of wind, "maybe I've... maybe I don't know what it's like. To... to see things and experience things. Maybe I'm not real..."

Unmarried, childless, no friends beyond his housemates, but at the peak of his career. In his books, Pete Wentz has it all made. Or rather, he would have it all made if the International Science Committee weren’t insisting he shut down his magnum opus: The Artificial Intelligence P41CK, P for short. Too smart, too powerful, too unpredictable, too dangerous.

But what if Pete can’t do it? What if Pete can’t bring himself to destroy his life’s work? What if - hypothetically - Pete finds a way to save him? What if that way to save him involves breaking the rules, the law, into the morgue and fleeing everything he knows? And most importantly: What if Pete can't trust his own creation?

    #06

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: My Chemical Romance
Relationships: Ray Toro/Gerard Way, possible hints to James Dewees/Frank Iero, past Christa Toro/Ray Toro
    Rating: Teen
Warnings: discussions of homophobia, kidnapping, past character death, manipulation, attempted manipulation
Summary: Ray isn’t ready to remarry, much less to get back into courting. He wouldn’t really know where to start, even if he did feel ready. Truth be told, he’s a bit afraid. With Christa, it was easy. He was young, just starting out, just beginning to explore his inclinations. He fell for her hard and fast, and they married a year after they began courting. Now, though, Christa is dead and Ray is a widower with a daughter whose heart is nearly as big as his. He thinks he’d want to be sure before he brought someone around, because Grace gets attached quickly, and she has a tendency to be his bias.

Ray is afraid of trying, because he’s afraid of what he might lose. Ray’s lost his wife, and he’s almost lost Grace once, too. He can’t go through that again.

He’s only got so much left. It’s not enough to risk. Above all else, Ray wants to protect Grace, and if he has to break his own heart to do it, then so be it. It won’t be the first time Ray’s pushed his own feelings down in order to be there for Grace and it certainly won’t be the last time.
    *****
Since losing his wife, Ray has done everything he could to raise his daughter Grace on his own. His brother-in-law Gideon, however, somehow always finds ways to complain about Ray and his parenting abilities. Despite this, Ray is determined not to let Gideon get the best of him.

A chance meeting with author Gerard Way may change things, however, as the two soon begin to develop an attachment to each other, though neither does anything about it. Gerard is too preoccupied with making a grand statement about it, and Ray is too afraid of how it might affect Grace if Gideon were ever to find out. One misplaced paper, however, may be the unraveling of an important and well kept secret; one which could bring Ray’s entire life crashing down around him.

    Media type: Fic
Bands: Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship
Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz, Travis McCoy/Patrick Stump (mentioned)
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings: Drug and alcohol abuse/addiction
Summary: Patrick is a solo artist, towering at the height of his career. He’s got it all and then some; a sprawling house in the Hollywood Hills, sold out arena shows and a fifth album billed to hit number one on presales alone. It’s not that he would say he has an addictive personality (although the therapist he fired would beg to differ) he just likes having fun. Doesn’t everybody?

Pete is an actor, teetering on the brink of obscurity. He hit his peak in the early noughties and struggles by on the notoriety of being the most quoted cast member of the country’s most laughed at soap opera. This isn’t what he imagined when he hedged his bets — and his finances — on AMDA back in the nineties, buoyed high on raw talent and assurances that he was destined to be the next Leo.

Hollywood has its issues, the streets paved with narcotics more than gold these days. For Patrick, indulgence is part of the game. Why should a millionaire resist when it comes to anything; cars, clothes, sex, a little something to pep up another press conference? He lives for excess and sees no reason at all to slow down.

The dizzying reality of it is new to Pete, the dark temptation of a siren’s call. But Pete has built his image (what little he has of an 'image', anyway) on being squeaky clean, on mixing with the right people. Then again, Pete has never mixed with people like Patrick before.

Patrick has nothing to offer but notoriety. Pete has nothing to offer but stability. With La-La Land providing their set and a supporting cast of neuroses, addictions and egos, will they get their Hollywood ending? Or will it all come crashing down?

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: My Chemical Romance
    Relationships: Frank Iero/Gerard way
    Rating: Mature
Warnings: Substance abuse, historical death of minor characters, non-graphic gun violence
Summary: After the abrupt death of both of Frank Iero's parents, he finds himself deep in a hole of binge drinking, therapy, and more drinking. His friends give him an ultimatum: either sort out his problems in rehab, or pay a visit to the Spiritualist community of Lily Dale - a place where psychic mediums communicate with the dead. In Lily Dale, he meets a medium named Gerard, who alerts him to the alarming news that his parents' car crash wasn't an accident at all. Together they embark on a journey to discover why Frank's parents really died and finally find some closure.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Explicit
Warnings: mpreg, miscarriage risk, teen pregnancy
Summary: Pete and Patrick aren't together. They just aren't. It's what they do. They're PeteAndPatrick, music-making dream team, best friends, confidants, lovers, but they're not together- they're not a couple. The thing is, they have fully accepted their non-couple status, they're completely comfortable with it, and it seems as if nothing can change that. This is, of course, until something does just that. It's the autumn of 2002, Fall Out Boy is in the midst of a van tour, and Patrick Martin Stumph has fallen pregnant. Hard. So hard, in fact, that Pete is completely and entirely freaking out. He has to pull himself back into gear and buck up if he's going to be involved in his baby's life, and it's going to take a hell of a lot more than a half-assed marriage proposal.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: My Chemical Romance, Leathermouth
Relationships: Frank Iero/Grant Morrison, Frank Iero/Grant Morrison/Gerard Way
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings:
Summary: fluffy OT3 bookstore present-day AU with a metric ton of canon elements.

Frank, the newbie who has just moved to Brooklyn following Dewees and a music dream, gets a job in the little bookstore Gerard works at/runs whilst still dreaming of that DC internship and working on a better portfolio selection to submit next year… or maybe the year after. They click instantly, of course, and spend their days bonding over dodgy text-based computer systems, having fun with the faceouts, fanboying over Grant Morrison (although maybe that's just Gerard) and reading dodgy erotica out to each other in silly voices. After work (okay, sometimes during) they read comic books together and play board games and listen to great bands, and all is wonderful.

Sounds perfect, right? Except Frank's dating someone else. Someone who Gerard also has a huge-ass, embarrassing crush on. Spoiler alert: Neither of them realize it's the same person.

Read on if you enjoy geeks pining, kisses in the snow, friends-to-lovers, and happy endings!

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: My Chemical Romance
    Relationships: Frank/Gerard, Mikey/Ray
    Rating: Explicit
Warnings: dub-con (not really, but there's definitely not an explicit yes in some of the encounters)
Summary: Four dads, six kids, one weekly get together. What’s the worst that could happen?

Ex-frontman Frank Iero is a single dad in New Jersey doing his best to raise his three girls. He meets Ray and Gerard, two dads with sons in the same class as one of his girls. Along with Gerard’s brother Mikey (who is soon to be a dad himself), they make plans to hang out every Friday, asking each other for advice and getting some much-need adult social interaction. Thus, the Sad Dad Club is born.

(Think Big Little Lies, but the MCR version, minus the murder mystery. I just watched the show, I don’t really know if it’s like that at all, but it probably inspired this fic way back when it was just an idea.)

    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Graphic Depiction Of Violence, Does The Dog Die - Yes, Two Puppies Die (but two dogs survive!)
Summary: "It’s the summer of 2003. Having just released their first real album, Fall Out Boy is back in their van, excited to tour the country with new songs and new hope. Unfortunately, the world has other plans for them.

The bombs fall while the boys are on the road, far away from home and just far enough away from danger to survive. But when the dust settles, their lives are about to change completely. Hostile environment, radiation, wild animals and other rivaling gangs desperate for survival all pose a new challenge to the four or them..."

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings: Graphic Violence, Torture, Dub-Con
Summary: Patrick was the most talented operative in MI6. A crack shot and a cool head, he was destined for success - until a mission gone wrong resulted in devastating losses: his career, his self-esteem, his husband. Now, Patrick leads a double life - grieving widower, struggling single father and killer-for-hire.

He's the best, always has been, lucrative contracts keeping his life ticking over, his solace taken in his shooting skills because God knows he's failing everywhere else. A job he literally can't refuse finds him far from home and thrown deep into the world of violent Mexican drug cartels as an undercover operative.

Pete is little more than a glorified gopher, swallowed into the cartel when life offered no other options. He's found a way to avoid the worst of the violence and tells himself he's doing okay.

Patrick thinks Pete is a wilfully ignorant lackey. Pete thinks Patrick is a stuck-up gringo. And yet, the unparalleled peril of working alongside the most dangerous men in Mexico seems to draw them closer to one another.

Will they make it out together? Will they even make it out alive?

    Media type: Fic
Bands: Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance
    Relationships: Mikey Way/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Mature
Warnings: Angst, bad communication, off-screen violence
Summary: [Dystopia AU, set sometime around 2010] It turns out that what it takes to reunite Fall Out Boy from their hiatus is nothing more or less than the total collapse of society into anarchy. Pete Wentz follows his boys around, tries not to get too much in the way of their save-the-world crusade, and tries to write songs that mean something to the people following them, even though he's pretty sure it's too late, and the world has already ended.

They keep crossing paths with My Chemical Romance, who're blowing up oil derricks and trying, for some reason, to cross a stretch of blockaded territory to get into what used to be Chicago.

Bands: My Chemical Romance, The Used, Mindless Self Indulgence, Cobra Starship
Relationships: Frank Iero/Gerard Way, Jamia Nestor/Lindsey Ballato, Mikey Way/Alicia Simmons
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings: None
Summary: Frank has a hard time not hating his job. He's so close to his dream of working as a reference librarian and yet, due to a few stupid choices, he's stuck doing processing and mending. Tasked with the same mind-numbing chores day after day, Frank feels he'll die of boredom -- that is, until Gerard is hired.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
Relationships: Joe Trohman/Patrick Stump, Both with various OCs.
    Rating:
Warnings: Private sharing of unsolicited third party dick pics without express consent.
    Summary:
    technology
    tɛkˈnɒlədʒi/
    noun
the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes

Thirty is looming on the horizon, for Patrick, and he's single, lonely and convinced that there's literally no one left on Earth who might be desperate enough to date him. None of his long-term relationships with women have worked out, and Pete has convinced him to get on Tinder to further explore 'dudes' as he did when he broke up with Anna, years ago.

Joe has other priorities - touring takes him away from home a lot and sharing custody of three-year-old Ted when he's at home in LA means his options are limited to those foolish enough to be willing to deal with someone else's kid in a city full of hyper-attractive proper celebrities.

In solidarity, they encourage each other, give each other date roadtests and compare notes. Patrick babysits, Joe offers advice, and Ted doesn't care as long as he gets to make pillow forts with his favourite person.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: None
    Rating: Teen
    Warnings: None
Summary: Patrick never asked for his parents to get divorced. He never asked his Mom to uproot his life and move him across the country. It’s not his fault- as his parents keep insisting, he’s completely blameless in all this.

So, Patrick doesn't understand why he has to deal with all of it.

Fuelled by homesickness, and an irrational hatred for Seattle and its tourist attractions, Patrick leaves his new house and runs away- homeward bound for his perfectly good old house.

The road is long, the journey spans months, and it doesn’t take long for Patrick to find company:

Joe, another runaway, and a whole year younger than Patrick.

Andy, a quiet man with no apparent destination.

And Pete, who takes it upon himself to lecture the teenagers on his rules for running away. Successfully.

    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: General Audiences
    Warnings: None
Summary: Patrick Stump, a boy fresh out of high school and crumbling under the weight of his parents' expectations, has been sent away to a small town with nothing more than the demand to help his aunt with her charity project. His summer, as every summer, is supposed to be nothing more than another detail to add onto scholarship forms and job applications.

But then he meets Peter Pan.

Joining a local pride production of "Peter Pan" -- and playing the part of the love interest, no less-- is not how Patrick's summer is supposed to go. But Peter Pan-- an actor who refuses to give Patrick either his real name or his first kiss-- has so many other magical plans. And Patrick just might find himself giving into the ideas of faith, trust...

And a little bit of pixie dust.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
    Relationships: Patrick Stump/Pete Wentz
    Rating: Explicit
    Warnings: References to suicide
Summary: The hiatus hurt everyone but no one liked to talk about it. It was an unspoken rule not to mention the fights that led them here or the broken hearts left in the band's wake.

So when Pete Wentz falls-- crumples, crashes-- into a post titled "We Liked You Better Fat", every defense comes crumbling down. Rushing to Patrick's side is the natural response but this time's different: Patrick doesn't want him there.

This is the story of two men fighting to hide their broken pieces, reaching to put each other back together with fading hands of their own. And, as time carries them further away from their past mistakes, it's the story of finding their way back to the music, friendships, and love they lost along the way.

    Media type: Fic
    Bands: Fall Out Boy
Relationships: Patrick Stump/Joe Trohman, Joe Trohman/OMC, Joe Trohman/others
    Rating: Mature
    Warnings: None
Summary: FOB is on tour in early 2009, and newly card-carrying bisexual Patrick has an equation that he uses to keep track of his growing feelings for Joe. It’s complicated, but it involves boner-thoughts, hand-holding-thoughts, addition, subtraction, and division, which has to be at 3/4ths of the elements for a serious mathematical calculation. He plots them in a spreadsheet, like one does, doesn’t really think about it the rest of the time, and everything is very normal and totally fine. Obviously. Then Joe announces his plan to try online dating, and that goes straight to hell.

Or in which Patrick is neurotic, secretly in love, and pissy about it, Joe dates a lot of losers, and the whole comedy of errors brings them closer together...until Joe meets someone he could really be serious about and Patrick realizes that maybe he’s blown his chance.

Summary:True Love doesn’t always span a single lifetime. Their love starts on the shores of the Nile between a young princeling and a captured tribute from a far-off land. When tragedy strikes, the gods allow for them to be together—but only for the years allotted to them by the Gods of Egypt. So they go—endlessly through the years searching for each other: Vikings, seamen, slaves and noblemen, searching through World Wars, crusades and across oceans. They sail on the Titanic together and march on Washington by each other’s side, each time trying to find each other before the time runs out. A hundred lives, with a finite and fixed clock just as Pete swore to the god Osiris...each time only one remembering all that came before. Until the final life, the one hundredth reincarnation of Pete and Patrick. Until Pete Wentz goes to a little Chicago suburb to meet some kid who wants to drum for the pop-punk band he’s building in his head.
