We had a request for a beta post a few weeks ago. Since moving to Dreamwidth pretty much leaves

bbbtalk defunct, we thought this might be a good idea.

So, here you go! If you need a beta or want to offer, leave a comment here. For clarity, we suggest titling your comment either BETA WANTED or BETA OFFERED. Don't forget to leave an email address!

If you are offering, please specify which bands, warnings, tropes, etc, you are/aren't willing to read. Letting people know if you specialize in SPAG, plot/flow, canon, or something else, or all of the above, is also helpful.

If you are requesting, try to keep it general for the fun of anon's sake (e.g., 'I need a beta for a 25,000 word MCR fic!'), but make sure that you give your beta warnings if someone does email you. You can also specify what kind of beta you need (SPAG, overall pacing, canon, whatever).

Hopefully this will help! Three of the mods are grammar fiends, so we're big proponents of getting your fic beta'd. ;)

I'm a very serious grammar fiend. I can make some minor plot suggestions, but I'd prefer not to. Bands I have enough knowledge of and read frequently: My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, The Academy Is..., Cobra Starship. There's not much that I wouldn't want to read; long, plot-thick fics or just simple PWP are both fine.

I'm good with SPAG. I'm not American, so I can't necessarily help with making your American characters sound right, but I'll do my best when it comes to plot and characterisation. I'm familiar with MCR and Panic!, FOB a bit less so. Other bandom bands I don't know a whole lot about, but if you're just after a SPAG beta I can do that.
