Check-in no.2
Here is the second check in post, mirrored on our Tumblr.
This is an optional activity, with no deadlines. Answer now, answer later, or skip it completely.
No matter what kind of fanwork you're planning on creating for this challenge, at the heart of it is a story that you want to tell. And until you have an idea of what that story is, it's hard find the inspiration and creativity to start on your fanwork.
So that's the first step. Think about the story you want to tell. It can be detailed and specific (I want FOB as werewolves!) or more general (I want band-as-chosen-family FEELS!) You can tell more than one story, combining them into a sticky sweet concoction of trope-y goodness. You can have a theme, a idée fixe, a narrative kink.
Comment to this post, or reblog on Tumblr, and:
1. tell us what is your favorite type of drink
2. tell us a little bit about the story (or stories, if you haven't settled on just one) you want to tell
3. comment to someone else's comment and cheer them on
Remember, you're not being graded; there is no wrong answer, because all answers are right.
Let's kickstart our creativity!

2. Story...ummmmm well.....basically it's a magical!AU without actual magic with no band, Peterick, and some hardcore friendship-bromance-level stuff between all of the FOB! boys...because I love supercoolfriend!Joe and supersage!Andy. Thinking of bringing in some other bandom folks but I'm not sure. I'm 10k words in, I have my main conflict decided on in my head and I've been doing the Mad Libs writing style...so basically I have the first...oh, three chapters written? And then like five random scenes and no conclusion. Yay me =( *sits in the corner and folds arms, mumbling about how it PROBABLY would have been smart to outline before I started writing*
I think honestly the hardest part was figuring out how my particular brand of magic works in this story and coming up with names and rules, etc. I'm not a very...inventive person natively, so this was a challenge. But I LOVE how it's coming out!

totally. Magic and mad libbing are great. I just wish I could mad lib write. I tend to FAIL if I jump around too much. And I end up with gaps I forgot to fill that become GIANT plotholes.

Like, Even though I KNOW what scenes I want where(most of the time). MOre will show up, or things will change in my head as I write and I end up with WAYYYY more words that originally expected.
So, solidarity. :)
*continues to cheer you on*

2. FTR, I'd say that you're a creative person. Like, not everyone would come up with the kind of magical au you're tackling. #YouSOcanfinishyourfanwork!!!
