Hey, cats and kittens! This is your friendly neighborhood Writer!Mod, romantical, here to scare the heebie-jeebies by reminding you that we're a little less than one month away from the draft deadline

June 16th is the big due date, and this is the informal check in poll where you appease me and the fact that I am nosy and let me know how things are going, if you need any help, that sort of thing. I promise not to ask any questions about William Beckett which, for those who know me, is a very difficult thing indeed.

So, as Monty Python would say, answer me these questions five. Three, sir. Three:

Are you done with your draft? If not, roughly how far along are you 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4?
Are you already weeping about your summary/title?
Do you need a cheerleader/hand-holding/moral support/beta/a hug?

Are you already weeping about your summary/title? the current title is "no" and the summary is "please help me finish this" so i'd say yes. yes i am. lots.

We've passed the halfway mark, but we're not to the 3/4's point yet. But we have a clear understanding of the shape of the story and I feel comfortable that we'll have a draft by the deadline.

We have a title! Summary. . .not so much.

Possibly may need a beta?

Are you already weeping about your summary/title? summary, yes. title, I've had that since the beginning. :)
Do you need a cheerleader/hand-holding/moral support/beta/a hug? Hugs are always appreciated but other than that I have all of the above unless other people would like to cheer me on as I try to finish these last few scenes.

I'm at minimum word count but not finished the story itself. Draft is about 2/3 to 3/4 finished... except I accidentally added a subplot? I wish I could stop doing that.

I will worry about the title/summary when I have an ENDING, which I'm pretty concerned about...

I will need a beta soon although I don't know how to find one... I could definitely use some moral support because I have a sinking feeling this story doesn't make sense.

Re the beta situation: you can always check out the Beta post and ask someone to help you tidying up your sure to be great story.

Are you done with your draft? no, but we're getting there. We're about 5-7k away from the bulk of the story being done, then we have to go back and fill in some flashback scenes, which will probably be a speedy 10k. We write really fast, it's okay, i swear.

Are you already weeping about your summary/title? we haven't even begun to discuss it, I have a feeling this is going to be the hardest part of the whole thing.

Do you need a cheerleader/hand-holding/moral support/beta/a hug? We have one beta lined up, who is a treasure, but this thing is looking to be a beast (40k, probably) and dumping it on one person is unkind to say the least. So we're definitely looking for another pair of eyes.

There is also some Gender Stuff going on in this fic, so ideally we'd like someone to bounce ideas around and read critically concerning that!

Are you done with your draft? If not, roughly how far along are you 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4? My rough rough draft has been ready for quite a while, but I've been trying to give it some proper finishing touches to delete all the unnecessary crap and make it an appealing rough draft. So maybe it's at 2/3.
Are you already weeping about your summary/title? Not really, have had those for over a year now.
Do you need a cheerleader/hand-holding/moral support/beta/a hug? These are always welcome and necessary, but mostly I need to have a little less work and be a lot more pro-active in the writing front to actually edit the rest of the story!

Um. xrysomou and I are on about 59 000 words, and our main characters are being difficult, but it's probably about 2/3s done? We've been sitting around wondering who on earth is going to want to read this monstrosity of death and generally regretting our life-choices.

Are you already weeping about your summary/title? : We have a title! But every summary we've come up with is pretty ridiculous. (The story we've come up with is pretty ridiculous... ¬_¬)

Do you need a cheerleader/hand-holding/moral support/beta/a hug? : I think we'd both like a hug! Also maybe someone to go through it with a critical eye at some point, but we'll check out the beta post for that.

On a serious note, though, I've had some family stuff going on and I've had to go back to my parents for a bit, which means that xryso and I are currently in different countries while we write. I won't actually be back on the same landmass as her until the due date, so our draft may be a bit rougher than we intended? Can we give you those apologies in advance? It will be completed, and the major plot won't change, but there will probably be a fair amount of polishing it up after the draft deadline. Is that OK?

Woot to having a nearly complete first draft! Srsly, kudos to you both.

FTR, the rough draft that gets turned in doesn't have to be super polished. It must have a complete story in the sense that someone reading it for inspiration (be it an artist or mixer) can create something that connects back to the story.

The Mod Team will check all submitted rough drafts for word count.
