Brendon’s an excellent counterfeiter drifting through cities and towns alike. When he meets Frank, it’s a match made in con artist heaven. Frank’s specialty is a little more undefinable, but it makes for an easy exit when the people they’re scamming don’t remember being ripped off.

Things are smooth, even with Brendon’s ever constant crush on Frank periodically popping up, until they run into Gabe at a club one night. Gabe’s a natural at charming the crowd and that aggravates Frank. Brendon’s more impressed than anything else.

After that moment, things slowly begin to change.

In special cases, life goes on even when you’re dead. Though, that’s always up for interpretation. Brendon doesn’t know if being put on Supernatural Pest Control means he has a life or just a function the Death Department can exploit. At least, he isn’t alone, what with Frank sitting right beside him in their green, ‘67 Ford Thunderbird as they speed down highways and backroads toward their jobs.

Life’s pretty damn good for Frank. He has a job he enjoys, a not so shitty apartment, and a boyfriend who single-handedly turns every day into an adventure.

If Frank’s sometimes bored without the action of the world he left behind, that’s fine. He doesn’t exactly miss the almost constant threat of death and the fast-paced rush to complete explosives before getting shot that used to hang over his head. Except some mornings, he wakes up, rolls over, and watches Brendon sleep wondering what it would be like if they didn’t work in a basement lab, the Q to Patrick and Gabe’s 007.

The catch is, Frank hired in as a lab tech to stay out of the firefights. Being Patrick’s snarky friend helped solidify it. And if that hadn’t, Gabe slipping into his and Brendon’s lives did the trick. Being an agent is dangerous as shit.

Only, now he finds himself wondering more and more what it would be like out in the field, making a difference.
