Anyway there's a little over a week left until the rough draft due date. Which is Monday, June 16th. As long as it's still the 16th in Alofi, you're good.

There are less than a dozen performers signed up for Wave Two and I know a few have had to drop out. And the deadline for podfic was yesterday, so let's try to get things going again.

At this point, you need to have a podfic rough draft done, which is a podfic that is at least 50% done or 1 hour completed. If you've managed to get that far on your BBB podfic, congrats. Send an email to bandombigbang at gmail with a screencap of the exported file in iTunes or the raw file in your recording software as proof.

Include a summary of the story - remember that this is so that artists and mixers can decide if they want to chose your podfic. If the story requires warnings, please include them in the summary.

Rough drafts are due today, Saturday May 31st. As long as it's still the 31st in Alofi, you're still good.

If you have to drop out, for whatever reason, don't feel bad. Life happens. If you want to send an email saying so, that's fine. But if we don't get some kind of communication from you by the end of today we will assume that you've dropped out. No hard feelings, bb. *hugs*

bandombigbang. Even though a lot of what I'll mention will refer to writers, there are a few things that do include all fanworks creators.

In order to provide a wider pool of fic choices for podficcers, we've tweaked the way that Wave 2 works. When sign-ups open on January 31, there will be a list of authors who participated in the 2012 and 2013 Bandom Big Bangs and who either have blanket permission to podfic or have opted-in to have their stories available for podficcing.

Podficcers can choose to podfic:

A story from the 2012 or 2013 Bandom Big Bang challenge in which the author has opted-in;
A story from an author who participated in the 2012 or 2013 Bandom Big Bang challenge and is listed on a blanket permission to podfic list;
Any story that is more than 10k words, meets the character requirements of this challenge, and the author has given permission to the podficcer.

Hello everyone! We hope you are ready for this round of Bandom Big Bang.

This year we're not focusing on making any big changes, but instead we're trying to find ways to increase participation in all aspects of the challenge. So please help us out by spreading the word (we have some nifty banners for signal boosting). We want to make this an awesome year for Bandom Big Bang.

Much of this post is cribbed from last year (thanks, awesome past mods!), but there are some new things we've brought for this year's round. Please read the entire post if you are interested in participating in Bandom Big Bang 2014.

Alright, folks, let's get this show on the road!

The official rules and schedule post will go up on Friday, January 24st. The following Friday, the 31st, is when the signup posts will go up. \o/! Are you excited? I know I am!

In the meantime, I want to ask for your help. One of the things with bandom these days is how diffuse it is. There are people on the journaling sites, on Twitter, Tumblr, even people who participate exclusively on the Archive of Our Own, and many other corners of the internet. There's not a lot of communication between the different groups, and I want to change that. I want all corners of bandom to participate in

bandombigbang, either as creators or as consumers.

But I need your help in getting the message out and spreading the word about

bandombigbang. You don't have to be a member of Dreamwidth, or have an account to participate, and we want a lot of people participating, from writers to artists to mixers and podficcers.

glitteryv and I made some banners for the express purpose of promoting this challenge, so please grab one and help get the word out.

Additionally, while I have the amazing

glitteryv and

romantical on board as mods, we still could use some more ~~warm bodies~~ treasured mods. If you're interested in helping out, email bandombigbang at gmail and we'll see if there's something you can help out with.
