The Bandom Big Bang Challenge

Here is the second check in post, mirrored on our Tumblr.

This is an optional activity, with no deadlines. Answer now, answer later, or skip it completely.



No matter what kind of fanwork you're planning on creating for this challenge, at the heart of it is a story that you want to tell. And until you have an idea of what that story is, it's hard find the inspiration and creativity to start on your fanwork.

So that's the first step. Think about the story you want to tell. It can be detailed and specific (I want FOB as werewolves!) or more general (I want band-as-chosen-family FEELS!) You can tell more than one story, combining them into a sticky sweet concoction of trope-y goodness. You can have a theme, a idée fixe, a narrative kink.

Comment to this post, or reblog on Tumblr, and:

1. tell us what is your favorite type of drink
2. tell us a little bit about the story (or stories, if you haven't settled on just one) you want to tell
3. comment to someone else's comment and cheer them on

Remember, you're not being graded; there is no wrong answer, because all answers are right.

Important things to remember:

•You don't have to have a DW to participate - just comment anonymously.
•You don't have to be signed up as a fanwork creator to participate.
•The official BBB Tumblr (bandombb) and Twitter (bandombigbang) are only for announcements, but there is an inspirational Tumblr that you can contribute to at any time by joining the bbb-network.
•If you are signed up as a fanwork creator, you can opt to be poked and prodded by mod email.

Welcome to the sign up post for people wanting to participate in the 2017 Bandom Big Bang, either as a primary or complement creator!

Please make sure you have read the rules before signing up. By signing up, you are agreeing to follow the challenge rules. Please direct any questions or concerns to that post or to bandombigbang at gmail dot com.

Sign up with the username you want to be known by, what platform you use most (Tumblr, LJ, DW, etc), and your email address. If you are planning to create more than one fanwork (e.g., one solo and one with a collaborator, or one fic and one art, please make sure that each sign up is a separate comment).

We've gotten a couple of questions about whether BBB 2017 is happening, so we've got the usual interest poll here.

Meanwhile, the wolves have their own conflicts. Bill's overbearing protective presence fades to neglect as the summer wears on, leaving them frustrated and quick to latch onto other distractions.

When Gerard swallows the pill the guy hands him, he knows without question that he's not coming back from Japan. One way or another, metaphorically or literally, this is it. He's had enough. He's done.

When he wakes up the next morning though, something is seriously different. There's fur where there should be skin, paws where there should be hands, and when he opens his mouth to scream - the sound that comes out is unmistakably a bark.

He's not stupid. Either he's still high (likeliest option) or he's been tasked with some sort of magical fucking transformation quest with mystical requirements to fulfill before he can get his body back (ridiculous option). 

When his band mates barge into his hotel room, frantically rifling through his things for clues and calling around to the police, the embassy, hospitals and the morgue - the likelihood of option 2 rises horrifyingly. Trouble is, he has no fucking idea what he's supposed to learn or find or which problem he's meant to solve to get himself out of this mess.  

Stuck in a foreign country, in a foreign body, and in a race against time - is Gerard going to fulfill his quest before it's too late?
